AMAZON
RAINFOREST – Two third of the Mato Grosso
State where originally covered by Amazon Rain Forest,
nevertheless many regions keep a beautiful reserve of
this grandiose ecosystem.
Only 290 km North of Cuiabá, reachable by car,
observing the transition from the savanna into the Amazon
rainforest and after crossing long extensions of Soya
beans, cotton and teca tree plantations we reach São
José do Rio Claro, with its over 33.000
ha of preserved forest, along the Claro River.
Further north, about 900 km and reachable by plane we
meet Alta Floresta, surrounded by luxuriant
Meridional Amazonian Jungle. Also the Valley of the
Guaporé River on the border with Bolivia, as
well as the National Indian Reserve of Xingu,
are some of the Amazonian destinations to be considered.
